How Local Web Lab collects, uses and protects your personal information. Last updated: 20 July 2026.
This website is owned and run by Local Web Lab, based in Hednesford, Staffordshire. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean Local Web Lab. We’re responsible for looking after the personal information described here. If you have any question about your data or this policy, email thelocalweblab@gmail.com or call 07356 055313.
Our website does not have a contact form and does not ask you to enter any personal details to use it. We only receive personal information when you choose to contact us directly, by phone, WhatsApp, text message, email or through our social media pages. When you do, we collect the contact details you use to reach us and anything you choose to tell us about your business and what you need. If you go on to become a client, we collect the further details needed to deliver and bill for your website. When you visit the site we may also collect limited technical data such as your device type, approximate location, the pages you view and how you arrived, through the cookies and analytics tools described below.
We collect information directly from you when you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, text, email or social media. We do not collect anything from you through the website itself beyond the technical and usage data gathered automatically by cookies and similar technologies when you browse, and then only where you have given consent for non-essential cookies.
We use the details you send us to reply to you, to prepare and present your free demo, and to provide and support your website. Once you become a client, we also use them to send invoices, take payment and keep proper business and tax records. We use limited technical and analytics data to keep the site secure and to understand and improve how it is used. You can ask us to stop using your information at any time.
Essential cookies that are needed to make the site work and stay secure are always active. We also use analytics tools, currently Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity, which set non-essential cookies to help us see how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These non-essential cookies load only after you accept them through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. If you decline, we will not run them. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
We never sell your personal information and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with the trusted suppliers who help us run the business, and only so they can perform their service for us. These include our website host and form provider (Netlify), our email provider (Google), our analytics providers (Google and Microsoft), our payment providers (GoCardless for monthly plans and Stripe for build fees), and, if you opt in to updates, our email newsletter provider (Mailerlite). Each of these acts on our instructions under its own agreement. We may also share it with HMRC where needed for tax purposes.
Some of our suppliers store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure it stays properly protected to the same standard.
We keep your information only as long as we need it. Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. If you become a client, we keep your records for the length of our work together and for 6 years afterwards, so we can meet HMRC and other legal requirements. Website backups are held for 90 days.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including secure hosting, encrypted connections and limiting who can see your data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information at all times.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email thelocalweblab@gmail.com. We will respond within one month and we will not charge you in normal cases.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us and we will try to put it right.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page, and any significant change will take effect as soon as the updated policy is published here.
